Gleneagles The King's Course

Gleneagles The King's Course

6209 m, Par 71. A challenging course designed by James Braid and opened in 1919. It tests the most skilful players. It is described as “one of the most beautiful and exhilarating places to play golf in the world”. Surrounded by stunning views of hills and mountains you need to have be able to select the correct club to play these cunningly devised holes.

Gleneagles The PGA Centenary Course

6482 m, Par 72. The PGA Centenary Course, designed by Jack Nicklaus, is a modern classic, combining the best of both the Queen's and King's.
Even for a champion and acclaimed golf architect like Nicklaus, The PGA Centenary Course was a challenge. It had to be a great course and, set as it is in the heart of Scotland, the country which gave the world golf, Nicklaus describes the course as "The finest parcel of land in the world I have ever been given to work with".

Turnberry Ailsa Course

Turnberry Ailsa Course

6379 m, Par 70. Currently ranked No.3 in the UK by Golf World Magazine. Links Golf at its best. The course winds through the dunes and out towards the craggy rocks at the famous lighthouse. There are few blind holes but a number of subtle doglegs and tough par fours make the Ailsa course a difficult one to master, especially in a wind. The course is always in perfect condition and overs magnificent views out to the Ailsa Craig and the Argyll peninsula and always in sight of the hotel perched on the hill top.

Turnberry Kintyre Course

6266 m, Par 72. The Kintyre Course of the Turnberry Hotel is the remodelled and renamed Arran Course. Opening in May 2001 it stretches to 6830 yards. Eleven holes of the Arran Course have been remodelled with a new seven holes created, many with spectacular views of the cliffs and water. From the elevated 9th green you can see nearly every hole on both courses.

St Andrews Duke's Golf Course

6648 m, Par 72. Awarded Championship status in its first year, the Duke's Course was designed by five times Open Champion Peter Thomson to reflect the heritage of its location in the Home of Golf. The result is a versatile and challenging par 72 course which enjoys maturity beyond its years.

St Andrews Eden Golf Course

5588 m, Par 70. This course was designed by the internationally known Harry S.Colt and then altered in 1989 by the golf course architect, Donald Steel, in order to ensure that this is a course of character but just a little less testing than the courses which on the seaward side.

St Andrews Jubilee Golf Course

6222 m, Par 72. This course provides a really tough test for keen golfers. It is over 100 hundred years old (opened in 1897) and was originally a 12 hole course for ladies and beginners. Now it has a championship standard course (officially opened in 1989 by Curtis Strange) and, laid out on a narrow strip of land between the New Course and the sea, the course provides an exciting challenge for any player.

St Andrews Strathtyrum Golf Course

4658 m, Par 69. Opened in 1993 this provides a shorter and very enjoyable round of golf. There are few bunkers (only 15) but these are cunningly placed and the greends and mounding around the greens require considerable accuracy and skill!
